Posted on September 9, 2009. Filed under: Uncategorized |

Coming up at the end of the month is OneWebDay, an event described by its organizers as “an Earth Day for the Internet”. On September 22nd, OneWebDay encourages everyone to do what they can to raise awareness of Web issues and deepening a culture of participation online.

There are lots of ways IT professionals can contribute to making the Web a better place including:

  • Posting about OneWebDay and/or Web issues on your personal blog
  • Helping someone learn how to use the Web (or to use the Web better)
  • Contributing to an open source software project
  • Donating time and IT skills to a non-profit to increase their Web presence

The OneWebDay website has a lot more great information about the event and how to get involved.
